Vi gick även på en guidad tur och jag lärde mig att vintage är ett tämligen nytt begrepp som det används idag. Det är från början en vin-term som betecknar årsgångsviner med de bästa druvorna för det aktuella året. Magdalena Ribbing var på museet och sålde böcker och vi pratade med henne om Gustav Adolfsbakelsen som serverades på livrustkammarens kafé.

Vi bodde på Vanadisvägen och jag fotograferade utsikten från hotellrumsfönstret och sedan Stefanskyrkan i Vanadislunden. The station was built between 1867 and 1871 with Adolf W. Edelsvärd as the architect. Until 1925 the tracks led in to the station but during a renovation 1925-1927 the tracks were moved to the west and the former track hall was converted into a 119 meter long, 28 meter wide and 13 meter high waiting hall. We did drive to Läckö Slott, a castle on the shore of lake Vänern.

I met this mermaid inside the castle. In the beginning of the 70´s she was sold to Clayton Hansson, a corn farmer in Iowa for $25000. But she was never accepted by the prudish authorities. "Ack Värmeland, du sköna"/"Värmlandsvisan", may be roughly translated as "Oh Värmland, You Lovely". The song was originally written by the Värmlandian Anders Fryxell in his musical "Vermlandsflickan" (The Värmlandian Girl).

The song is about the county "Värmland" in Sweden. The song was subsequently incorporated 1846 in Fredrik August Dahlgren's play "Värmlänningarna" (The Värmlandians). In Sweden, this composition is often performed as an anonymous treasure of the Swedish folksong tradition. (wikipedia)
